Total Intermittent Extrusion (T.I.E.)

Total Intermittent Extruded (T.I.E.) tubing from Putnam Plastics Corporation is manufactured with a unique patented process which enables engineers to design a product with continuously extruded rigid-to-soft tubing. Also available in multi-lumen, this can reduce the cost of manufacturing compared to standard bonding technology. The soft tip can be made in a different color than the shaft for recognition purposes. This tubing is available in many thermoplastic materials, including polyurethane and Pebax®. Most conventional tubes are either rigid or soft throughout and do not offer this important property.

The TIE Process reduces the possibility of breakage at the rigid-soft transition point. This makes TIE Tubing ideal for use in applications which require a stiff shaft and flexible tip.

The level of radiopacifier can be customized to illuminate specific sections of tubing. Reduce you labor costs and product liability today by specifying TIE Tubing for your new and existing products. TIE Tubing is available only at Putnam Plastics Corporation.
